"Le Du x Kyo Bar” is a special 4-Hands collaboration of 2 most recognizable and successful rising stars of Thai gastronomy scene - 2 best of friends who will both be cooking for the first time in Japan! Chef Tonn Thitid Tassanakajohn of Le Du Growing up surrounding by delicious home-cooked meals, Thitid’s mother and grandmother’s flavors have contributed largely to his passion in cooking. Upon the completion of his Economics degree from Chulalongkorn University, he took off to USA to pursuit his dream at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America (CIA). The top-score graduate continued to receive an MBA in Hospitality from Johnson & Wales University. During his time in New York, Thitid has worked at several Michelin-starred restaurants, including Eleven Madison Park, The Modern and Jean Georges. Not only does he have passion in food, but his enthusiasm in wine also led him to become a Certified Sommelier (CS) from the respect Court of Master Sommelier. He has brought home experiences and vision to elevate Thai cuisine and give it a standing amongst world’s leading cuisines. Now the rising young chef is running one of the most exciting kitchens in Bangkok - Le Du (#16 in Asia’50 Best Restaurants 2019 and most recently, #1 Thai Restaurant on Thailand Tatler 2019), as well as an always- reliable comfort Thai food home, Baan. He is also the face of Thai cuisine having represented Thailand on the world stage at Madrid Fusion and M.A.D. Chef Dej Dej Kewkacha of Kyo Bar Thailand’s golden boy of pastry put aside his MBA from the U.K. ,as well as his family’s tourism business empire, and began chasing his sweet dreams at the age of 22 when he set up an ambitious pastry business with his brothers, under the Kacha Brothers group. Today, Dej is the chef-owner of 7 F&B brands including the flagship Kyo Roll En - Thailand’s most popular Japanese dessert cafe chain with over 30 outlets from Bangkok to Pattaya ( Bangkok’s Best Restaurants 2019 - “Best Dessert Cafe” and BK Magazine Bangkok’s Best Eats for Desserts 2019 ). A self-taught patissier who speaks fluent Japanese, Dej has also spent time in prestigious kitchens around the world, from the 2 Michelin-star Ta Vie in Hong Kong to the legendary Spanish ‘God of Pastry’ Paco Torreblanca, who Ferran Adria count as an inspiration. In 2017, Dej opened the revolutionary Kyo Bar - Thailand’s first and only Dessert Bar serving an ‘omakase’ degustation menu of just desserts! Inspired by his beloved country of Japan where he’s been visiting frequently for the past 15years, Kyo Bar desserts constantly evolve and change with the seasons, using only the best Japanese ingredients, combined with contemporary pastry techniques.
